What is Green County Events?

Green County Events is a community event information management and broadcasting system for the Green County Wisconsin area.

More specifically, Green County Events is a web-based calendar and events publishing system which features centralized administration, role-based user access, and event information distribution/publishing services.

This website and associated services are a cooperative community project and participation is open to all local Green County Wisconsin area groups, organizations, municipal entities, and business wishing to promote public events.

Getting Green County Events on Your Website

Green County Events provides XML data-feeds via a Web Services interface maintained on the site. Any website that can consume a Web Service (just about any website) can make use of the event information contained in the Green County Events database (talk to your webmaster about consuming XML Web Services on your website).

Green County Events can be filtered by category, organization or municipality, and various ranges of dates can be pulled from the database. This makes is flexible enough to use for maintaining an organizational calendar on your website while passing that information along to the rest of the system (all other participating websites) with no additional effort. Posting Green County Events to the System

Currently there are two ways to submit your event information to Green County Events.

  1. Become an Event Administrator* and enter events directly into the system.
  2. Send us your event information via the contact page.

*As an event administrator, you will be able to enter all of your organization's event information for distribution to participating websites (perhaps even your organization's website). Adding events, locations and contact information is easy and you can even set up events with complex recurring patterns such as "the third Thursday of each month" etc.
