This website (GreenCountyEvents.com) is owned and operated by Green County Spotlight LLC of Monticello, Wisconsin. The website employs many modern information and communication technologies and we do collect various items of personal information about the visitors to this site. This is a common practice on the Web but we also understand that it is a commonly misused and abused practice which is not what this website or our company is about. We hold our visitor's privacy rights and expectations in high regard and have prepared this document so that you can understand our policy toward the collection and use of personal information.

This document relates to the policies and practices of Green County Spotlight LLC pertaining to the collection of personal information by electronic means via this website (Green County Events or GreenCountyEvents.com).


Involuntary Information Disclosure

Green County Events visitors are not subject to involuntary personal information disclosure of any kind except for that which occurs normally during the process of accessing virtually any website on the Internet. This exception refers to certain information normally captured by a web server and stored in the web server’s log file during the handling of a request or information gathered by other traffic-analysis tools or services including third-party services (see Google Analytics and Ad Sense sections below). Anonymous Access

Green County Spotlight LLC does not require the disclosure of personal information for general usage of our website. In other words, we allow anonymous users to access to our home page and much of the rest of our website without divulging any personal information (except as mentioned above). Green County Spotlight LLC does not electronically collect personal information from visitors to any of our websites without their knowledge and consent.


Data Collection and Purpose Statement

We do collect the personal data that you may volunteer while using our membership or event administration services. For example, access to the event administration area requires registration. In all cases where we collect personal information, we strive to collect the minimum information necessary to administer the service.

When you register on behalf of a business or organization, you submit your name as a contact for the entity along with other entity-specific information. We use this information to administer your access to our system membership and verify information in our community database.

Typical information collected for all event administrators includes the following and may be collected electronically or via other means.

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Your choice of website login name and password or any temporary password we may send you in response to a change password request

We use the above data for the following purposes.

  • Administration of the membership system including member communications
  • Technical administration of the website
  • Product/Service research and development
  • Marketing (aggregated data only) and other statistical analysis

If we wish to use this data for purposes not listed above, we will first explain the purpose to you and ask for your consent to use the information in the manner described. We will not use your personal information for the new purpose unless you give us your consent. We normally post new uses for personal information in the member’s area and give you the option to consent by checking a box near the description and then clicking a button to send the information to the server.

We may also need to collect additional personal information at some point for the purposes listed above or for other reasons. We offer you the means to give your consent to this process and we will never collect additional personal information without your consent. Single Session Cookies – Single session cookies identify a distinct web client for the duration of one browsing session. From time to time, Green County Events may offer incentives to users in the form of contests, prizes, and giveaways. We often requested that users fill out surveys or questionnaires to qualify for participation in these activities. Unless explicitly indicated otherwise, we use the information from these surveys and questionnaires to identify trends in user activity and to understand user demographics and preferences.

Green County Events currently uses third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our website (specifically Google). Google Analytics Cookie

Green County Events employs the web analytics tool known as "Google Analytics" (GA) which allows us to view reports that help us understand how visitors engage with our website. Google Analytics collects information anonymously and reports website user trends to us but does not identify individual users by personally identifiable information such as name or IP address. Google Analytics uses its own cookie which is unique to our website and visitors are not tracked across multiple websites. If your browser allows you to decline cookies (most do) then you can disable the Google Analytics Cookie by setting your browser to prompt you before accepting cookies and then decline this cookie when prompted.


Membership Services

Certain Green County Events member services permit members to post personally identifiable information that is viewable by other members of the public. Other services facilitate communication between members and allow members to share personal information. When you use these services, others may view and collect the data you submit. An example of this would be that the information you submit in a an event, contact or location listing is viewable by the general public and other members.


Children's Privacy

Green County Events does not offer membership services for children or persons under 18 and Green County Events does not knowingly collect personal data from children or persons under 18. This policy however, does not restrict children or teens from anonymously browsing the public areas of our website.

Children and teens are not eligible for membership at this time and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) not submit any personal information to Green County Events or attempt to use our member registration system. If we learn that, a person under 18 has submitted personal information to Green County Events; we will delete that information and any related information from our record keeping system, and terminate any associated membership privileges.


Confidentiality / Security

We give you the option of using a secure transmission method whenever you send us personal data. All pages that collect personal data use the HTTPS protocol by default and employ an SSL Certificate issued by a widely-used certificate authority.

Green County Spotlight LLC will take reasonable precautionary measures to protect and safeguard all personal information gathered. We have implemented security policies, rules, and technical measures to protect the personal data that is under our control from unauthorized access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorized modification and/or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, etc.

All data processors and personnel with access to personal data are obliged to respect the confidentiality of that data. We also do not disclose personal data to State institutions or authorities except when the law or other regulations require us to do so.


Access to the Personal Data We May Hold About You

You may ask us whether we are keeping personal data about you.

Upon request by letter to the address above, we will normally provide you with a readable copy of the personal data we keep about you within 14 days of the date we receive your request. This policy is subject to you providing proof of your identity prior to release of any information. When we provide the information to you, it is at no charge.

We allow you to challenge the data that we hold about you and, where appropriate, you may have the data:

  • erased
  • rectified or amended
  • completed

We reserve the right to refuse to provide our visitors with a copy of their personal data, but will give reasons for our refusal. Such reasons could include abuse of the system such as multiple requests being place over a short period by the same person. Changes become effective upon posting to the following website address and we undertake no obligation to provide any other notice of any kind. That said, we usually do announce changes to this document in the member’s area of the site.
